Park Royal on the outskirts of Warrington set with its own helicopter field is the venue for Drone School Cheshire.
For our drone school at the hotel on the Sunday 13 August the flying field was perfect. The weather was cloudy and with 10mph winds the conditions were good for flying.
There were some unusual flying hazards for the student to consider. There was a two biplanes that were sharing the airspace with us in the morning and afternoon. The biplanes were flying at between 500-1000ft so spotting was very important. The student dropped the drones down to our flying field when we saw the other air users. We also had a selection of helicopters fly over the venue, so the students who were acting a spotters got a very realistic test of their newly acquired safety training.
The hotel itself blends a beautiful mix of modern facilities with elegant grandeur. Part of the hotel was built in 1831 as a vicarage to the nearby St Matthew’s Church, a warm welcome always awaits.
The location is great for our students joining us from Liverpool, Manchester or other parts of Cheshire. The hotel has 146 bedrooms and a large leisure centre.
